Ever since I was a little kid I loved magic. I still do.

There’s something so wonderful about it, don’t you think?

In law school, I visited the Magic Castle, the famous club for magicians, in LA. Most magicians won’t tell their secrets. But there are a few who will let you in on how the magic happens.

The secret is misdirection!

The magician directs your attention to one direction or thing while they are busy doing something else.

Hence you are fooled.

Sadly, I see lawyers getting fooled every day.

They struggle under the burden of running a business that requires admin and marketing work while also trying to serve clients and practice law.

They struggle with overwhelm and can’t grow because they don’t have staff to help them.

They struggle with overspending on staff because they don’t have onboarding plans in place so they get caught on the hamster wheel of hiring/firing/rehiring.

These lawyers know that they have to change and look for a solution.

Yet when they find it, misdirection happens. Obstacles to the solution pop up…

  • That’s not in my budget.
  • I don’t know if I’ll have time.
  • I need to save for that.
  • I have to think about it

Highly skilled, resourceful problem-solvers who can’t seem to find a way to make it possible to get the solution they need.

Before long, poof, the law practice they want disappears and they are left to scramble and burnout.

If you’ve ever said any of those things, ask yourself this:

If I don’t have time now, how will I find time in the future for this?

If I lose cases because I’m understaffed, where will the money to save come from?

Will waiting to act get me any closer to my goal?

What does it say about me if I won’t invest in my own goals and dreams?

If you’re ready to let go of excuses that don’t serve you and trade these problems for:

  • Fixing the problem!
  • Seeing your dream practice become real
  • Easily growing on your terms
  • Enjoying a trustworthy team who supports your goals that you can rely upon
